Steam releases 12 more free games available for download now

Another batch of free games is now available on Steam, and instead of you having to sift through them yourself, we've done the hard part for you.

So check out the 12 games you can download for free on Steam below, along with a short description of each game. Some of them are really worth checking out.

Blood Metal is described as a “brutal, experimental single-player project with a model for total body destruction”, so it is essentially a first-person shooter full of blood, like DOOM.

Quackdzilla: Pool Cleaning Simulator is a prologue to a pool cleaning simulator game. A bit odd, but in a world full of truck driving, pressure washing and even lawn mowing, it was only inevitable that pool cleaning would eventually get its own game.

Ultimate Pirates is a city-building and strategy MMO game set in a nautical pirate world – other than that, there’s not much to say.

Conquest of the sky is a charming 3D platform game that you can play with friends, either working together or battling for dominance.

Bugnauts is another 3D platform game, but this one has more Grounded Experience how you move through the levels and fight against bugs with a net.

Taxi Rush: Prologue is the opening level of a game that is clearly heavily inspired by the Craxy Taxi series, so if you're a fan of crazy racing, you should definitely check it out.

Off-Air is a chaotic first-person shooter that combines skill and style and is set in an ever-changing world.

MechaLeague is described as a “high-speed online multiplayer cross-platform VR game.” This free-to-play title features immersive movement mechanics as well as something that's needed in all games these days: grappling hooks.

Thunder Age is a tower defense game set in a “flooded future world” where humanity has found a way to harness electricity “during raging thunderstorms.”

Wind Rider is an endless sliding game where the obstacles in front of you are all randomly generated. You can either go for the high score or just to lighten the mood. What could be easier?

Little Guardians is a tower defense game designed for couch co-op. The official description reads: “Build up your enemies, destroy your defenses, and wreak havoc in the garden! … Wait, it was the other way around.”

Over is a challenging game that sees you climb a mountain and test your determination, skills and endurance as you try to reach the top.
