The truth has come to light.

In Kaiju #8, Episode 11, the Japanese Anti-Kaiju Defense Force faces an important decision after discovering that their newest recruit, Kafka Hibino, is actually Monster Number Eight.

The Third Division barely survived the encounter with Kaiju No. 10 and the wyvern-like creatures, all thanks to Hibino's unexpected heroism. But the decision to save his comrades may have cost him his future in the Defense Force.

Episode 10, aptly titled “Secret Revealed,” began with the red kaiju revealing his monstrous form and boasting a strength of 9.0.

Vice Captain Hoshina bravely continued the fight against the giant beast despite his superiority. Hoshina unleashed consecutive attacks, but reached the 10-minute limit to keep his combat power at peak levels. His battle suit overheated, causing his combat power to drop below 92 percent.

Vulnerable and exhausted, Hoshina took a heavy blow from Kaiju No. 10, triggering a flashback that showed his struggle to find his place in the defense force, where his swordsmanship was dwarfed by highly advanced weaponry.

However, Third Division Captain Mina Ashiro recognized Hoshina's unique abilities in fighting smaller Kaiju, an area she felt her team was weak in. Thanks to Ashiro's trust, Hoshina found new purpose in fighting alongside her.

Just as Kaiju No. 10 prepared to finish off Hoshina, Ashiro intervened with a series of critical strikes. Together with the Third Division, including Kikoru Shinomiya and the platoon leaders, they finally managed to destroy the monstrous Kaiju.

But the victory was short-lived. In a final act of desperation, Kaiju No. 10 ordered the surrounding flying creatures to gather and self-destruct, unleashing a massive explosion with the force of a nuclear bomb that aimed directly at the Third Division.

Without hesitation, Kafka Hibino transformed into Kaiju No. 8 and knocked away the self-destructing Kaiju Bomb to save his comrades.

However, this selfless act came at a devastating cost. Hibino's secret was revealed. Ashiro and the Third Division saw him as a threat and took him into custody.
