UFC 303 has a new main event after Conor McGregor had to pull out of a fight against Michael Chandler. In a rematch from UFC 295, Alex Pereira will defend the UFC light heavyweight title against Jiri Prochazka on June 29 in Las Vegas.

UFC 303 takes place during International Fight Week and features the UFC Hall of Fame and UFC X fan experience. The event will air in the U.S. on ESPN+ PPV.

McGregor was scheduled to return to action for the first time since July 2021, when he lost to Dustin Poirier. In that fight, McGregor broke his tibia. The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion injured himself during training, which forced the fight against Chandler to be postponed further.

Instead of this battle, there will be a clash between two intimidating titans.

Pereira is a two-division UFC champion and defeated Israel Adesanya for the UFC middleweight title at UFC 281. At UFC 295, “Poatan” defeated Prochazka to become the fastest fighter to win two-division titles (736 days/7 fights). The former kickboxing champion is ready to step up at the last second and deepen his legacy that many already believe is secure.

“I understand this fight is very close and there might be difficulties beforehand BUT if there is anyone who can make this happen it's me! POATAN! That's why I'm one of the biggest names in the UFC, Alex Pereira!!! I take risks that no one else would be willing to take but I know my ancestors are with me. The spirits are with me and I'm ready for anything,” Pereira said on Instagram.

Prochazka defeated Glover Teixeira for the 2022 UFC light heavyweight title, but was forced to relinquish it due to a shoulder injury. Following his loss to Pereira, the Czech Muay Thai Championship gold medalist decimated Aleksandar Rakic ​​​​in a rebound fight. The former RIZIN light heavyweight champion is looking to reclaim his throne and get revenge on Pereira.

The revised card also features Brian Ortega vs. Diego Lopes and Anthony Smith vs. Carlos Ulberg. Ortega and Smith are former title contenders, while Lopes and Ulberg are rising stars looking to make a name for themselves. An exciting duel between Ian Machado Garry and Michael “Venom” Page is still on the main card.
