iPadOS 18 is set to be released this fall and promises a variety of updates for the best iPads that can run the upcoming operating system.

Although iPadOS 18 won't be available until later this year, you can download the iPadOS 18 developer beta right now. This is technically for people in the Apple Developer Program, whose membership costs $99 per year and gives you access to Apple's tools for building apps that run on its programs.

However, keep in mind that this is a beta version of the operating system and may contain bugs that could affect how your device works. If you don't want to take the risk, you can wait for the iPadOS 18 public beta, which is usually more secure than the developer beta. 1. Sign in to Apple’s developer site

You must be an Apple developer to test the iPadOS 18 developer beta. make sure, that enroll in the Apple Developer Program if you haven't already. Again, it costs $99/year.

2. Check for software updates

Start the Settings app And Tap “General”followed by Software update.

If you have the latest version of iPadOS, the iPadOS 18 developer beta may already be waiting for you. If not, Tap Beta Updates and select the iPadOS 18 Developer Beta from the list.

4. Download the beta

Choose either Update nowwhich will start the download of the beta version immediately, or Update tonightwhich will postpone the beta until a later date. You'll be asked to enter your passcode, and if you selected Update Now, the download will begin. Betas can take a while to download, so make sure your iPad has enough power or is plugged into a charger when you download the iPadOS 18 beta.

5. Install the beta

Once you have downloaded the beta, you will be prompted to either Install it now or wait until later. When the installation is complete, your iPad will restart. After you enter your passcode, iPadOS 18 will be installed and ready to try. The download may take a while.
