Head coach Mike Norvell hits back at Greg McElroy on AlwaysCFB

We at ChopChat have already expressed our displeasure with individuals like Kirk Herbstreit and Greg McElroy over what happened in December when an undefeated Florida State team was eliminated from the College Football Playoff in favor of a one-loss Alabama team.

McElroy was once a strong supporter of the Seminoles' team performance even after Jordan Travis' injury. However, about five days before the selection committee's decision, his mood changed and he felt that Florida State did not deserve to be in the playoffs.

It was a strange shift in mindset that angered many Seminole fans. As alluded to in a previous article, McElroy attacked the fan base on a recent episode of the Always College Football podcast, stating that Seminole fans were intentionally giving him one-star reviews.

While I gave it a one-star rating, it's important to remember that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Still, it's a bitter pill for fans to swallow, even though the event happened over seven months ago.

Head coach Mike Norvell has always been a great person and wants to put the program in a positive light. Much to my surprise, he appeared on the Always College Football podcast for a 30+ minute interview.

Kudos to Florida State's sports and information team for providing Norvell with the opportunity to interview the people who single-handedly ruined his team's chances of winning a national championship.

McElroy brought up the question of how they need to move on from the College Football Playoff loss. Here's what Norvell had to say on that question:

This was a great response from Norvell, ensuring that all future efforts will be solely focused on the team. He knows he can't repeat what happened last year. This is another team that Norvell is excited about and believes can accomplish great things in the 2024 season.
