Sonoma Raceway (originally known as Sears Point Raceway, Golden State International Raceway, and Infineon Raceway) is a racetrack and dragstrip located at Sears Point in the southern Sonoma Mountains in Sonoma County, California.

Since its completion in 1968 and renovation in the 1990s, it has been home to the NASCAR Series, the IndyCar Series, the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series and several other auto races and motorcycle races, such as the American Federation of Motorcyclists series.

Extensive renovations began in 1998 with the construction of the “Chute,” a 900-foot high-speed track. In 2000, Sears Point Raceway received unanimous approval for a $35 million modernization plan that included 64,000 Hillside Terrace seats, resurfacing of the road and acceleration track, and increasing drainage around the entire track.

According to the racetrack's website, the 2.52-mile track was repaved last January and February.

The forecast for Saturday night looks good: According to the National Weather Service, it will become increasingly cloudy and temperatures will fall from 15 to 10 degrees.
