The Despicable Me Franchise will outshine the MCU, according to a new video featuring Star Steve Carell. In the latest teaser of the upcoming Despicable Me 4, Carell reveals an extensive slate of Minion movies, from mega-Minion epics to multiverse crossovers and even a few musical extravaganzas thrown in for good measure. But before anyone gets too excited, there's a big catch – none of it is real.

As the world of cinema delves ever deeper into sequels, prequels and expanding franchises, the latest marketing effort for Carell's latest outing as minion master Gru features a gentle parody of the MCU's complex and crowded series. With a timeline packed with films like Mega-Minions: Electric Gru-Galoo, Mega-Minions: The Tax Write-Off, Mad Mega: Furry Road and Mega-Minions: Mega Musical On Ice, there's no doubt that this epic film series, which runs until 2124, could become a reality in an alternate reality. Carell's hilariously direct delivery of the “news” lets him reveal:

“You've probably heard of the Mega Minions. Five Minions with incredible power and zero responsibility. But Despicable Me 4 is just the beginning. Introducing Illumination's Megaverse. 50 interconnected Mega Minion stories shared at random intervals across a variety of media over the next 100 years. Since their debut in Despicable Me 4, the Mega Minions have blazed a trail from the big screen to the small screen, from the future of the present to the present of the past, and from the stages of Broadway to the ice rinks of Jacksonville, Florida… You're in for a treat. Start your Megaverse journey today by pre-ordering tickets to Despicable Me 4. It's going to be truly amazing.”

“Despicable Me 4” can continue the success of the franchise

Illumination is not exactly desperate for a hit, as they are still riding the path of last year’s success with The Super Mario Bros. Movieand scored again at the box office last month with The Garfield Movie. However Despicable Me It all started with the franchise and despite a few small missteps, there is still no end in sight to the saga.

In Despicable Me 4In the sixth film in the series, including the Minions spin-offs, Gru and his ever-growing family once again face off against more supervillains who want to disrupt his quiet life. This time, Gru must face two villains: Maxime Le Mal, voiced by Will Ferrell, and Valentina, brought to life by the voices of Modern family Star Sofia Vergara. Add to that the arrival of a new baby in Gru's life and, of course, the Minions, and everything seems set for the usual chaotic, crowd-pleasing adventure that has kept the franchise consistently box office-worthy despite some less than rave reviews.
