Charles Wesley Godwin releases epic trailer for the music videos of the “Family Ties Trilogy”

0

This is going to be so damn cool.

Last night, Charles Wesley Godwin shared an epic new teaser of his Family Ties Trilogywhich will include three songs from his incredible 2023 Family ties Album, including “Miner Imperfections,” “Another Leaf,” and “Dance in Rain.”

The trailer begins with the announcement on December 8, 1941, that the U.S. Congress had declared war on Japan following a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor the day before. It then cuts to scenes from three different decades of the same family and what their lives were like during the Great Depression, World War II, and into the “Golden Era” of the 1950s.

While the inspiration may not necessarily come directly from CWG's family tree itself, I imagine that, similar to the record mentioned above, he drew a lot of inspiration from his own family history, which makes this project all the more special and important.

In a post on Instagram, Godwin explained the meaning behind the trilogy:

“We are excited to share with you something we have been working on for the past few months: The Family Ties Trilogy is a music video project and short film that follows the journey of a single family over three decades, told through three songs from Family Ties.

“Miner Imperfections,” “Another Leaf,” and “Dance in Rain” tell the story of a couple who struggle through life and start a family during the Great Depression, through World War II, and into the “Golden Era” of the 1950s.

“Shout out to Justin Clough and everyone involved. This is a very meaningful project for me and I can't wait to share it with you over the next few weeks.”

Here's a look at the release schedule, with the video for fan-favorite song “Miner Imperfections” dropping next Wednesday:

June 12 – Chapter 1 – “Miner Imperfections”
June 20 – Chapter 2 – “A different page”
June 26 – Release of the entire short film, including “Dance in Rain”

The production value is incredible and I can't wait to see how this all turns out. I always appreciate the time and attention CWG puts into everything he does and music videos like this are a lost art in many ways so I love that he's making it big in a way that's meaningful to him.
