On Tuesday, four-star wide receiver Malik Clark, class of 2025, announced on the social media platform “X” that UNC’s football program had earned a spot on his list of the top five schools.

Other schools in Clark's top five include ACC rivals Florida State and NC State, as well as SEC heavyweights Auburn and South Carolina.

North Carolina has been actively trying to recruit Clark, the 6'1″ receiver from Rock Hill, SC, who will visit Chapel Hill on Friday. Clark has quickly worked his way up the WR rankings and is now ranked 22nd in the 247sports national rankings.

An exceptionally fast athlete, Clark also participates in track and field in addition to football. As a junior, Clark finished third in the South Carolina 5A 100-meter final with a time of 10.62 seconds. His speed has helped him dominate on the field. He finished his junior football season with 800 yards and nine touchdowns on 46 catches.

The Tar Heels' biggest competition in recruiting appears to be the Gamecocks, who hope to keep Clark in-state. Clark visited South Carolina on Sunday, June 2.

Gamecock Digest spoke with Clark after meeting with South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer and wide receivers coach Mike Furrey. “They talked about me being the number one priority and staying home to help win a championship,” Clark said.

As the weekend approaches, all eyes are on Clark's visit to Chapel Hill. This visit is a pivotal moment in the recruiting process, and if Mack Brown and the Tar Heels want to sign Clark to Carolina Blue in 2025, they'll need to pull out all the stops.
