Queen Mary of Denmark caused a stir by unveiling a brand new “Gen Z” hairstyle – and celebrities like Beyoncé, Jennifer Aniston, Kylie Jenner and Bella Hadid love it.

The Danish Queen recently stepped out onto the balcony of Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg Royal Palace to celebrate her husband King Frederik's 56th birthday.

Attentive fans immediately noticed the Queen’s new look: coins.

The trend, made popular by Beyoncé in 2020, is to dye the face-framing curls a lighter color to highlight facial features.

Queen Mary wore light caramel-colored coins with her new hairstyle, which contrasted beautifully with her dark reddish-brown hair.

The stunning hair transformation highlighted the Queen's subtle makeup and accentuated her facial features.

Some, like Bella Hadid and Kylie Jenner, choose to bleach their hairpieces or dye them bright colors.

Jennifer Aniston, as Rachel Green in Friends (1994–2004), also often dyed her hair with coins that framed her face.

The actor's haircut during the television show, nicknamed “The Rachel,” is one of the most requested haircuts in recent years.

With trends dating back to the 1990s with a modern twist, it's no surprise that the Danish Queen decided to show the world her take on the popular style.

Queen Mary is a fashion icon herself and is known for setting trends.

The Australian-born European royal recently wore accessories in her hair from a designer loved by Taylor Swift.

New York designer Ellen Hunter's ornate handcrafted jewelry and hair accessories have become celebrity favorites over the years.

The Jane comb uses filigree work—a method in which the maker twists and solders gold wires together—which adds even more complexity to its design.

It features three vintage-inspired designs twisted together on a 24k gold-plated comb – and at the time of writing, only three are in stock.

During the same visit to Norway, Queen Mary also dazzled in the Amanda Crest ($338) as she posed alongside her husband King Frederik X of Denmark and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr.

Thousands of royal fans have said they are “obsessed” with Queen Mary’s hair accessories – so it’s only a matter of time before the expensive jewelry is back in fashion.
