Queen Mary of Denmark caused a stir by unveiling a brand new “Gen Z” hairstyle – and celebrities like Beyoncé, Jennifer Aniston, Kylie Jenner and Bella Hadid love it.

The Danish Queen recently stepped out onto the balcony of Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg Royal Palace to celebrate her husband King Frederik's 56th birthday.

Attentive fans immediately noticed the Queen’s new look: coins.

The trend, made popular by Beyoncé in 2020, is to dye the face-framing curls a lighter color to highlight facial features.

Queen Mary wore light caramel-colored coins with her new hairstyle, which contrasted beautifully with her dark reddish-brown hair.

New York designer Ellen Hunter's ornate handcrafted jewelry and hair accessories have become celebrity favorites over the years.

Queen Mary wore the Jane Comb ($248) by Ellen Hunter during the Danish State Visit to Norway in May 2024.

The Jane comb uses filigree work—a method in which the maker twists and solders gold wires together—which adds even more complexity to its design.

It features three vintage-inspired designs twisted together on a 24k gold-plated comb – and at the time of writing, only three are in stock.

During the same visit to Norway, Queen Mary also dazzled in the Amanda Crest ($338) as she posed alongside her husband King Frederik X of Denmark and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr.
