Genshin Impact leak seemingly confirms skins for two characters in version 4.8

According to a leak, Kirara and Nilou could be the next characters to receive new skins in Genshin Influence and will also play an important role in the flagship event for version 4.8. Genshin Influence has traditionally created alternate outfits for its characters in two batches per year: during the Lantern Rite and during the Summer Event. The previous beneficiaries have been Shenhe, Ganyu, and Xinqiu, who received their skins in version 4.4. Interestingly, the two 5-stars have yet to make a banner appearance since their alternate outfits debuted, but this likely won't be the case in version 4.8.

Kirara is a 4-star character in Genshin Influence introduced during version 3.7, and although many initially found her inclusion out of place, her connection to Chiori has a lasting presence in Genshin Influences story. From a gameplay perspective, she is a mainstay in teams that need a Dendro Shield, an ability that only another character (Baizhu) can provide. In contrast, Nilou is famous for her Bloom compositions, as her skill kit turns the Elemental Reaction into something much more deadly.

Genshin Impact officially introduces the new Dendro 5-star Emilie

Genshin Impact has officially announced the new limited five-star Dendro character Emilie, who is set to release with Update 4.8.

According to Uncle Teyvat, Kirara and Nilou will receive alternate outfits in version 4.8. Unfortunately, Uncle Teyvat also claims that Wanderers in Genshin Influence will not receive a new skin, although she is a main character in the flagship event for version 4.8. Emilie and Navia are also featured in the Summer 2024 event, which takes place in an enchanted forest and is once again hosted by a member of the witches' coven. It should be noted that a new alternate skin for Kirara directly indicates that she will be the free 4-star character of version 4.8, although it is too early to say if she will also be present on the event banners during the patch.

Kirara and Nilou could get new skins in Genshin Impact version 4.8

While Nilou in Genshin Influence is due for a banner appearance, her skin continues an interesting pattern that started with Jean during the Midsummer Island Adventure in version 1.6. Jean was the first Mondstadt character to receive a premium outfit, and she happened to be a female 5-star sword character. She was followed by Keqing in version 2.4, who was the first Liyue character to receive a skin and is also a female 5-star sword character herself. The pattern continues with Ayaka in version 3.4 and apparently Nilou in version 4.8. While HoYoverse likes to break patterns, a Clorinde or Furina outfit in Natlan wouldn't be out of the question.

Although the event banners for version 4.8 of Genshin Influence are not confirmed, many players speculate that Nilou and Wriothesley will accompany Emilie as main characters. Emilie's abilities will focus on burning, which puts her in conflict with Nilou, but she could have a lot of synergy with Wriothesley or possibly even Kirara. Genshin Influence Players can expect more information as the beta test for version 4.8 progresses.
