Betting odds updated after Enjoy Illinois 300

0

The odds for the 2024 NASCAR The Cup Series title was updated following the thrilling Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway.

Austin Cindric shocked the NASCAR world to secure a place in the playoffs with a win at Gateway Motorsports Park, his first since winning the 2022 Daytona 500. His teammate Ryan Blaney, on the other hand, suffered a bitter heartbreak as he ran out of gas while leading in the closing stages of the race after an incredible battle with Christopher Bell.

Next weekend, the NASCAR Cup Series returns to road racing at one of its most interesting tracks in Sonoma. As the season continues, here are the updated NASCAR Cup Series title odds, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Dennis Hamlin (+400)

Denny Hamlin continued his consistent performance in 2024 at Illinois, finishing second to Austin Cindric on Sunday afternoon. The No. 11 driver continues to deliver one impressive performance after another.

Hamlin will be thinking about his last-place finish at Sonoma last season this weekend. That's not normal for Hamlin, so the No. 11 driver will be looking for some serious revenge this weekend.

Kyle Larson (+450)

The thought of being denied a playoff exemption weighed heavily on Kyle Larson's mind at Illinois, but on Tuesday morning it was officially announced that he was eligible to compete for the championship. He still fought for a top-10 finish at Illinois, finishing in 10th place.

Road racing hasn't been easy for Larson, but he won an Xfinity Series race at COTA earlier this season and finished 8th at Sonoma last season, so it's certainly rewarding to see him in victory lane.

William Byron (+500)

William Byron's chances of winning the championship remained unchanged after a P15 finish in Illinois. He didn't have a particularly eventful afternoon, but secured a result that, in hindsight, is at least not easy to complain about.

Unfortunately, Byron has a win at the only other road course NASCAR has raced on in 2024, as the No. 24 dominated at COTA. A similar result would not be impossible for the Hendrick Motorsports star.

Christopher Bell (+850)

Christopher Bell seemed on his way to victory after winning the rain-shortened Coca-Cola 600 the weekend before, but his engine failed him during a battle with Ryan Blaney. Despite this, Bell still managed to finish in the top 10 with a seventh-place finish.

Now Bell will turn his attention to Sonoma, where he finished P9 last season. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver will look to continue his success on the California road courses when the green flag drops.

Martin Truex Jr. (+1000)

Sunday afternoon in Illinois was a race Martin Truex Jr. would like to forget. The Joe Gibbs Racing veteran finished the day in 34th place, which was certainly not what the No. 19 would have wanted for the weekend.

Last season, Truex Jr. won the Cup Series at Sonoma. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver needed a win more than ever and now hopes to see the checkered flag again on Sunday.

Chase Elliott (+1000)

Once again, Chase Elliott narrowly missed a top ten, something that seems to happen frequently to the No. 9 throughout 2024. Still, he finished the race in Illinois in 13th place, a solid afternoon for the sport's most popular driver.

Over the course of his career, Elliott has made a name for himself as an expert on road courses, and he finished fifth at NASCAR's Sonoma race last season, so he'll be looking for more this time to increase his total wins.

Ryan Blaney (+1200)

No one had a more heartbreaking weekend than Ryan Blaney. As the rounds wound down, he dreamed of Victory Lane, but Blaney ran out of gas and instead ended up 24th on Sunday while his teammate Austin Cindric celebrated in Victory Lane.

Now the reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion hopes to vent some frustration at Sonoma. He finished 31st at the track in 2023, so there's plenty of room for improvement in 2024.

Tyler Reddick (+1200)

Tyler Reddick's No. 45 was successful in Illinois. The 23XI Racing driver finished the afternoon race in fourth place, a more than solid result for the driver who is developing into a contender week after week.

While Reddick is usually a major threat on road courses, he finished 33rd at Sonoma last season. We'll see if he can bounce back with a better result when the Cup Series returns to California this weekend.
