Amid the ongoing fiasco surrounding Conor McGregor's planned return against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 later this month, former champion Daniel Cormier has urged fans to “brace themselves” for some disappointment amid speculation the fight could be in jeopardy.

Conor McGregor, who is set to end a nearly three-year hiatus from the Octagon later this month, has been tapped to headline UFC 303 for a welterweight bout against his former lightweight title challenger Chandler during International Fight Week.

However, speculation about the status of the pairing increased this week after the organization canceled a press conference scheduled for last night ahead of the UFC 303 fight at the 3Arena in Dublin.

Furthermore, McGregor, who addressed the cancellation of the media event, did little to ask substantive questions, claiming that “obstacles” beyond the promoter's control forced the event's postponement.

Therefore, speculation now suggests that McGregor could suffer an injury ahead of UFC 303. He has been sidelined since suffering a fracture of his left tibia and fibula in 2021.

“Be prepared for a little disappointment,” said Daniel Cormier on Good guy / Bad guy“Dana White will argue with the media and yell at them, Dana White will give the media a hard time, Dana White has no problem disappointing the media, and you know what Dana White doesn't like to let down? The fans.”

“For me, this is a big deal,” Cormier explained. “I've contacted too many people in the organization to find out what happened, and when everyone is as silent as they are now, that's a little concerning to me.”
