Los Angeles basketball fans may not have a horse in the race for the 2024 NBA Finals, but they can look forward to plenty of entertainment in the form of television dramas. FX's new docudrama series “Clipped” premieres this week, with episode 1 airing on Hulu.

The six-part story about former Clippers owner Donald Sterling – now serving a lifetime ban from the NBA – details the extreme level of dysfunction suffered by Sterling, his family and the Clippers franchise in the early 2010s.

REGARD: “Clipped” and more on Hulu with Disney+ package

Sterling's final expulsion from the association came after the release of tapes in which the billionaire made racist remarks. After his expulsion, Sterling's wife sold the Clippers to current owner Steve Balmer and Sterling sued the league.

The show is based on the ESPN 30 for 30 special “The Sterling Affairs” and covers that violation as well as Sterling's sordid affairs with a mistress and his difficult relationships with former LA coach Doc Rivers and former Clippers players such as Chris Paul.

Ed O'Neill, known for his role as Al Bundy in Married with Children, plays Sterling. The Matrix star Laurence Fishburne plays Rivers, while J. Alphone Nicholson plays Paul. Cleopatra Coleman plays V. Stiviano, Sterling's ex-lover, and Jacki Weaver plays his wife Shelly.
