Gypsy Rose Blanchard is in her “reality TV era.” After sharing a glimpse into her life in prison in a six-part docuseries, the 32-year-old opens up about how she's coping with her newfound freedom and solidifying her identity in a new unscripted series for Lifetime.

Blanchard's new show, Gypsy Rose: Life after prisonpremieres tonight at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Lifetime and runs through July 22. Each episode will be available to watch online after it airs for traditional cable and streaming subscribers, including subscribers to DirecTV, Frndly, Fubo, and more.

In an interview with The Hollywood ReporterBlanchard said she did not want to be defined by her life in prison.

“I'm about to start a new chapter in my life, a new look, a new me, a new style, a new everything,” she says. “You get little snippets of what my life has been like for the last five months from articles on the internet, TikTok videos, social media, a few little snippets here and there. But no one can actually be in the same room with me except my family. … And for me, it was important to show, no, The is who I am.”

Who is Gypsy Rose Blanchard?: Murder trial, where she is now

Gypsy Rose Blanchard captivated crime fans – and the world – when she was sentenced to ten years in prison in 2016 after pleading guilty to convincing Nicholas Godejohn, a friend she met online, to kill her mother. Dee Dee Blanchard had spent years forcing her daughter to pretend to have serious illnesses, including leukemia and muscular dystrophy. She was released on parole from the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri on December 28, 2023, after serving 85 percent of her original sentence.

Blanchard now lives in Louisiana with her ex-fiancé Ken Urker (whom she met in prison) after filing for divorce from her husband Ryan Anderson (whom she also met and married while incarcerated).
