The time to return has come Bad Boys film series, with Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Funnily enough, there will be one of the shorter gaps between films, eight years between the first and second films, 13 years between the second and third, and now the fourth film is expected to have less than five years outside of the film will rate. Whatever the reason, the next film is just around the corner and many of the fan-favorite cast and crew are returning.

Does Bad Boys: Ride or Die have a release date?

Bad Boys: Ride or Die Is is scheduled to hit theaters on June 7, 2024where it opens against the horror film The Guardians out of Ishana Night Shyamalan and Warner Bros. The film was originally scheduled for release on June 14, 2024, but was moved forward by a week. The buddy cop flick will be part of a large slate of sequels and prequels releasing during the 2024 summer movie season Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Inside Out 2, Despicable Me 4, A quiet place: day one, Deadpool and Wolverine, Beverly Hills cop: Axel F, Twister, Alien: RomulusAnd MaXXXine.


Will Bad Boys: Ride or Die be available to stream?

Bad Boys: Ride or Die will enjoy an exclusive theatrical release starting in June 2024, but once the film's exclusive theatrical and PVOD windows end, it will become available to stream on Netflix thanks to an agreement already struck in early 2021 between Sony and the streaming service be available.

The latest Sony films made available on Netflix include: Madam Web, The Book ClarenceAnd Everyone but you.

Is there a trailer for “Bad Boys: Ride or Die”?


Sony Pictures has officially unveiled the first trailer for Bad Boys: Ride or Die on March 26, which also revealed the film's previously hinted title. The trailer quickly dives back into the action with a tease as Mike and Marcus are forced to go on the run after being framed for corruption.

The final trailer for Bad Boys: Ride or Die was released on Thursday, May 16, 2024 by Sony Pictures.


A 30 second spot for Bad Boys: Ride or Die was released by Sony on May 13th.

Who will star in “Bad Boys: Ride or Die”?

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will return as defending champions.Bad Boys” Detective Lieutenant Mike Lowery and Detective Lieutenant Marcus Burnett.

Reprising their roles from the previous film is Jacob Scipio as Mike's outlaw son Armando Aretas. Vanessa Hudgens as AMMO's weapons expert Kelly, Alexander Ludwig as AMMO's tech expert Dom, Paola Nunez as captain Rita Secada and DJ Khaled as Manny the Butcher. John Salleywho played the role of computer hacker Fletcher in the first two Bad Boys Movies will reprise his role in the fourth film. Although he was killed in the third film, Joe Pantoliano will also reprise his role as foul-mouthed Captain Conrad Howard. Tasha Smith (Rich) is replaced Theresa Randle in the role of Marcus' wife Theresa. Although nothing has been confirmed, it appears to be so Charles Meltonwho played AMMO member Rafe Bad boys for lifewill not be returning for the film.


Other new actors include: Eric Dane (euphoria) as the film's villain and Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four) as Lockwood, an aspiring political candidate. The rest of the cast includes Melanie Liburd (this is us), Tiffany Haddish (Girls trip), Rhea Seehorn (Better call Saul) and rappers Joyner Lucas in unknown roles.

The official summary for Bad Boys: Ride or Die reads:

This summer, the world's favorite bad boys are back with their iconic mix of fast-paced action and outrageous comedy, but this time with a twist: Miami's finest are now on the run.


As revealed in the trailer, Bad Boys: Ride or Die opens with Mike and Miles' late captain Conrad Howard being accused of corruption and having longstanding ties to numerous drug cartels. Mike and Miles firmly believe in their former boss's innocence and are sent old videos taken shortly before his death in which they explain the situation and ask them to clear his name. During a mission, the police friends are tricked and go on the run with Mike's estranged criminal son Armando Aretas.

Co-director Adil El Arbi also revealed that the fourth film will be tonally different from the third film, saying:

“But yeah, what's going to happen in this movie is I think there's going to be a lot more comedy. The third had the dramatic tone. With this film, our goal is really to make people laugh and have fun in the theater [Lawrence] in this case goes to a higher level. This is the culmination of the Marcus Burnett arc.”


Who makes “Bad Boys: Ride or Die”?

There are also a whole host of faces returning from the background, including directors Adil El Arbi and Bilal Fallah, who directed the previous film. The directing duo has been busy making the acclaimed drama since the release of the previous film rebel and directed episodes of Ms. Marvel. They also directed the now infamously canceled film Batgirl Film that would have played the leading role Leslie Grace in the title role alongside the Oscar winner Brendan Fraser as the film's villain, Firefly.

While speaking to Collider's Christina RadishThe directing duo revealed that the success of Bad boys for lifeallowed them to get “funkier” and “lokier” with the fourth film, saying:


“With Jerry Bruckheimer [high-profile producer] When we think of movies we always tend to think about all the action and crazy explosions. But it's actually the characters in his films that make audiences enjoy watching them so much. So we went deeper and deeper into these character moments. But everything we learned as far as camera movements and directing on set, we tried to push ourselves and go further. Sometimes we had some offbeat moments and offbeat shots that we didn't try on the last one because it was maybe a little more classic. This time we’re going a little funkier and loco.”

You will be joined Chris Bremner as screenwriter for the film, who also serves as a recurring writer and has already worked on the previous film. Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad OmanWill Smith and Doug Belgrade are considered producers. The executive producers include Barry Waldman, Michael Stenson, James Lassiter, Jon MoneChris Bremner and Martin Lawrence.


When and where was “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” filmed?

Similar to the previous three films in the series, filming is underway for Bad Boys: Ride or Die took place primarily in Atlanta, Georgia and Miami. Filming began in early April 2023, but was halted in July due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA 2023 strike. In February 2024, Will Smith announced on social media that filming had resumed, and a few weeks later he confirmed that filming had officially completed.

Is “Bad Boys 5” in the works?

Although Will Smith has said that another film may be in the pipeline, it's still too early to say if it will happen. Fans are certainly clamoring for it, and the actors still seem more than ready, so it might not be as far-fetched as some might think.
