“NASCAR still has its fastball”

0

Whenever there is a fight, NASCAR is at the center of the sports world. Even Pat McAfee had to talk about the Ricky Stenhouse Jr. fight. Of course, Kyle Busch is a friend of the show, so it's hard for these guys to choose a side.

NASCAR made the rounds after the All-Star Race. ESPN and other sports networks aren't talking about Joey Logano dominating the race, but more about the extracurricular events after the fact.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. wanted to fight Kyle Busch because he wrecked him two laps into the race. And that's exactly what he did.

Pat McAfee broke things down on his show in a way only he can. Animated, exaggerated and in the most ridiculous way imaginable. He had a sentence that rang true during the passage.

“I tell you what, NASCAR still has its fastball,” McAfee said, applauding the entire situation.

Which closes this moment for Kyle Busch and the Pat McAfee Show is that Rowdy was on the show earlier this season.

Before the race in Bristol, Busch went for PMS and ripped younger drivers out a bit. In fact, the topic of fighting came up. Busch said at the time that he felt like there needed to be more fights and that no one was throwing punches anymore.

Kyle Busch somehow asked for a fight with Ricky Stenhouse Jr

On-track action aside, Kyle Busch asked for this fight with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. He did it on the Pat McAfee Show in March. The topic of young drivers and struggles came up and Busch was open.

“The younger generation is all about falling before winning, so they tend to just throw the game into the corner next to them and often just wipe you out,” Busch said on the website Pat McAfee Show. “There were a few falls last week, a few guys were mad at each other, but um, I think the last guy to hit was me, so there really haven't been any fights lately, but that's probably how it should be , things would develop has settled in much more quickly.”

I don't think Busch imagined he would be in the fight when he said that. Still, it adds some irony to the whole situation and I think it's worth noting.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. caused quite a stir with his fight last night. That was enough to get NASCAR coverage on ESPN today. Which is overall a win for the sport.

Kyle Busch wanted fights, and he got one.
