Who will be on the ballot in the Louisville area in 2024?

0

Early voting has ended and Election Day for Kentucky's 2024 primary is set for Tuesday, with much at stake in Louisville and the surrounding region.

The primary election decided Tuesday will determine which candidates will appear on the ballot in this year's general election, scheduled for Nov. 5. This year's election is about more than just our next U.S. president – every Kentucky House seat and every odd-numbered state Senate seat is at stake, along with several other local races like Metro Council.

Here's a breakdown of the races that will appear on the ballot in Jefferson County and some of our surrounding counties in Kentucky (Indiana's primary was held earlier this month). Many of these races involve smaller precincts within the county, meaning not every Jefferson County race appears on every ballot in Jefferson County. You can view a sample ballot for your county by entering your address into a portal on the county clerk's website. Additionally, this list does not include single-candidate primaries.

Polls close at 6pm on Tuesday and results are expected to be announced soon. Stay up to date on this evening's events by updating coverage on courier-journal.com.
