Will Stewart raised more than $70,000 in three games Danger! After watching his devastating defeat, many fans are blaming Ken Jennings for ditching the contestant during the show. Read on to find out why Danger! Viewers point fingers at the game show host.

Ken Jennings asks for a more specific answer

On Wednesday, Will, a political organizer from Nashville, ran against Grant DeYoung of Arizona and Kathy Olson of Pennsylvania. Fans have been raving about Will's appearance on the game show so far. He was on one Danger! winning streak and the spectators were excited to see how far he would go.

During the Danger! In the round, Will was ahead of his competitors. He had $7,600, while Grant and Kathy had $3,400 and $1,800, respectively. However, Grant ended up winning both Daily Doubles.

Surprisingly, it wasn't the Daily Double losses that led to Will's death on the game show. There were only six $400 clues left on the board, one in each category. As they checked off the remaining clues, Grant and Will went head-to-head. Grant had taken three and Will had taken two, with one left.

Time ran out after the second to last clue because Danger! Host Ken Jennings didn't make a decision immediately. Under the category “In a Historical Film” the clue read: “It is the role played by Nicole Kidman in Being The Ricardos.”

Grant replied, “What's Lucy?” and that prompted Ken Jennings to ask, “Can you?” And Grant hurried to finish his answer before Ken could clarify, “Be more specific.” Grant said, “Arnaz.” , and Ken accepted the answer.

“You're in the lead and we don't have time for the final clue, so you'll have a $400 lead before the finale,” he said Danger! host said. This left Grant with a $400 lead heading into the final round. Will Stewart looked visibly frustrated with how things were turning out.

Will had $12,800 before the final round and Grant had $13,200. Her fellow competitor Kathy held $6,600. The final one Danger! The category was “19th century literary figures”. The clue read: “John Elwes, a millionaire MP who went to bed before dark to save candles, inspired this character.”

All three game show contestants responded with the correct answer: “Scrooge.” However, Grant ended up winning after betting $12,401 on his answer and finishing the game with $25,601.

The fans accepted it Reddit to discuss whether or not Ken Jennings cost Will Stewart another win.

One viewer wrote: “I wonder if there's a chance that the final $400 clue for DJ will be revealed if 'Lucy' is accepted outright.” Obviously, we're dealing with hypotheses about whether Will will at this point could have equalized or not, but it’s one of those things where that timer just affects the game a little bit.”

Another Danger! The fan chimed in: “Another unnecessary “Be More Specific” from Ken. The character Nicole Kidman played was Lucy Ricardo, so 'Lucy' should have been accepted straight away.” They continued, pointing out that this would have given Will a chance to equal Grant in the finale Danger! and would have led to an exciting one-question tiebreaker at the end of the episode.

However, this likely won't be the last time viewers see Will Stewart. It's possible he'll be asked back for the Champion Wild Card tournament, especially after winning three games in a row.
