UFC Fight Night 241: Angela Hill takes Luana Pinheiro for first submission, most wins in division history

0

Angela Hill finally got a submission win on her professional record, but that wasn't all.

Hill (17-13 MMA, 12-13 UFC), a UFC strawweight veteran, is coming off a great run at UFC FN 241 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, while also tying Luana Pinheiro for the most wins in the division's history with 4:12 in round 2.

Hill performed well in Round 1 with her trademark striking game and finished the round in a dominant position on the mat. In the second round, Hill continued her aggressive offense and saw an opportunity to jump a guillotine attempt and defeat Pinheiro (11-3 MMA, 3-2UFC). Hill stuck with it, eventually rolling into a mounted guillotine and forcing the tap.

Hill's finish gave her the most wins in UFC strawweight history with 11. It's now two wins in a row for “Overkill,” who is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Denise Gomes in November.

During her post-fight interview, Hill called for a BMF female title shot in a rematch with Jessica Andrade to avenge a 2017 loss that ended a four-fight winning streak.
