Paul defeated Ryan Bourland with a first-round stoppage in March and has now jumped straight into this blockbuster encounter.

Paul began his boxing career in Tyson's exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, and now they will face each other.

Tyson was once one of the most destructive heavyweights, destroying most of his opponents.

However, “Iron Mike” has not been in the ring for four years and fans have expressed their concerns about this fight.

Paul vs. Tyson: What was said?

Tyson has admitted he is “scared to death” of boxing Paul.

“I have a strange personality – but I don't think it's strange. Whatever I'm afraid of, I do it. That’s how it is,” Tyson told Fox News.

“I was afraid of Roy [Jones] battle. I was 100 pounds overweight, but I was old, 54, 53, and I said, “Let's do it.”

“Everything I’m afraid of, I confront. This is my personality. I’m scared to death right now.”

“I have always believed that adversity and nerves catapulted me to success.

“If I didn’t have those feelings, I wouldn’t be going into this fight. I have to have these feelings to fight. Without her I would never go into the ring.”

“The closer the fight gets, the less nervous I get, because it is reality, and in reality I am invincible.”

Paul and Tyson will meet in the ring in July

MMA legend Randy Couture has publicly supported Tyson in an exclusive interview with talkSPORT ahead of his fight with Paul.

“Jake Paul definitely has his hands full with Mike Tyson,” Couture told talkSPORT’s MMA YouTube channel.

“Even around [57]Mike is as explosive as ever, and there are a whole lot of other things that are gone from Mike's life, so he's firing on all cylinders now.

“I think Jake will be very difficult to deal with.”

He added: “It will be interesting to see how this fight develops.

“I mean, if you look at Mike Tyson's training footage, you have flashbacks of him in his prime, and that's pretty scary, pretty remarkable.”

Meanwhile, veteran boxing promoter Frank Warren described the fight as “ridiculous”.

He told talkSPORT: “Anyone with a shred of sense knows it's ridiculous…”

“Let’s face it: You can be stuck in a traffic jam on a highway and all you end up with are people who have stopped to look at an accident and that’s it.”
