YouTube TV brings multiview to Android devices

0

YouTube TV has started rolling out the multiview feature on Android phones and tablets. The Multiview feature was initially introduced as a preview in 2023 on smart TVs and streaming devices.

Last month, YouTube TV rolled out the feature on iOS devices and later announced that it would soon roll out to Android in the coming months.

However, according to Google's 9to5 report, Android users should expect the Multiview feature today. It looks like Google has decided to roll out Multiview sooner than the aforementioned “coming months.”

For those unfamiliar with Multiview, this feature allows YouTube TV subscribers to watch up to four channels at the same time. Multiview does not require powerful equipment and can easily run on any Android phone and tablet.

In certain cases, you can create your own multiview channels and even select non-sports streams. However, mostly only sports streams are supported. The stream you are currently watching will be highlighted in white and you can quickly change the stream by simply tapping that segment of the grid.

YouTube TV costs $72.99/month and gives users access to exclusive benefits that take their streaming experience to the next level. Now the Multiview feature is one of the exclusive benefits, which means you have to opt for a YouTube TV subscription to access this feature.

You need to update the YouTube TV app to the latest version (8.17) to use the function. Once updated, you can find Multiview on the Home tab of your Android device.

Google is gradually rolling out the latest version of the app, so there is a high chance that the latest update has not been rolled out to your device yet. We recommend that you wait for some time and then check for the update again. Once it is available, update the app and enjoy the Multifview feature on your Android devices.
