Bethesda recently released a snazzy next-gen update for Fallout 4, which updates the game to run natively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. If you are a PlayStation owner and have subscribed to PlayStation Plus, don't worry, you can also access the free update. We have put together a simple explanation that you can download.

Aside from enjoying it Fallout 4 On current hardware, the update offers improved graphics and resolutions, 60 fps and general bug fixes. For some reason, this initially didn't apply to everyone who had access to it Fallout 4 via the PS Plus game catalog, which led to the assumption that you had to buy the game itself to get the update.

Bethesda soon assured that this was not the case and in one Post from April 25th on Twitter, promised to sort it out. The problem was resolved as of April 30th (again via Bethesda's Twitter account), so here's how PS Plus subscribers can download the PS5 update.

First, make sure you're subscribed to at least the PS Plus Extra tier. It's the cheapest tier that gives you access to and lets you play the service's catalog of games Fallout 4 (plus over 400 other games) at no additional cost. The catalog is also included in PS Plus Premium, but not in PS Plus Essential.

To download the update, go to the Games Library on the PS5 home screen. As long as you have downloaded Fallout 4 In the games catalog in the PS Plus menu, you should find the game in the “Your Collection” section. Choose Fallout 4open the drop-down menu by selecting the three small dots and select the standard version of the game.

This is a bit confusing as it then lists two options, both labeled as “Game”. You'll want to select the second “Game” and you should see the option to add the PS5 version Fallout 4 Add it to your library for free.
