Cody Garbrandt says he suffered from dizziness during his fight with former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 300.

To kick off the groundbreaking night of fighting, “No Love” returned to the Octagon victorious in back-to-back bouts. Standing in the way of a third straight victory was Figueiredo, who was competing at 135 pounds for just the second time. Initially, Garbrandt appeared to be fluid on his feet, but once he hit the mat, Figueiredo promptly took over, defeating the former bantamweight titleholder with a rear-naked choke in the second round.

“I was feeling great in my fight until I started feeling dizzy,” Garbrandt said wrote in a message on X. “Once it hit the ground, I couldn't control the rotation. Hats off to Deiveson and his camp! I ended up going to the hospital where I still suffered from dizziness and vomited until 4am

“I will have this corrected. I have been struggling with dizziness since 2012. Thank you to the fans who supported us. It wasn't my night, but I love what I do. I’ll be back before the end of the year.”

Cody Garbrandt is 9-6 under the UFC banner and 2-3 in his last five outings.

As for Deiveson Figueiredo, the former flyweight moved up two spots to No. 6 in the bantamweight rankings. This means “Deus da Guerra” is probably just one big win away from a shot at reigning titleholder “Sugar” Sean O’Malley.
