Apple offers a solution to Apple Watch ghost touch problems

0

Are you experiencing ghost touch issues on your Apple Watch? You are not alone. Although the bug was initially limited to the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2, it appears to be affecting some older models as well.

Apple has informed its service providers not to replace Apple Watch models with touch issues. Instead, a temporary solution has been provided while the company investigates a possible solution.

Ghost touch problems also affect older Apple Watch models

Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Series 9 owners have been complaining about ghost touch issues for several months. This annoying issue causes problems when scrolling through lists and results in erratic and incorrect touches. The company's support forums are full of complaints from frustrated Apple Watch users.

In an internal communication to its service providers, Apple has confirmed the Ghost Touch issue affecting several older Apple Watch models. These include the Series 7, 8 and the first generation Apple Watch Ultra.

Apple has advised its authorized service providers not to replace affected Apple Watch models. Instead, the company recommends users force restart their watches by pressing and holding the side button and crown for 10 seconds.

Force restart or update your Apple Watch

Although the company has released several watchOS updates in recent months, none of them have fully addressed the issue. The recent watchOS 10.4 update mentioned Ghost Touch fixes, but the issue appears to persist for some.

It's surprising that Apple hasn't fixed the Ghost Touch issues on its smartwatch yet, even though the issue has been going on for months.

If you're experiencing touch issues with your Apple Watch, you can try force restarting it. This solution only works temporarily, but it is a workaround that you can use until Apple releases a more permanent solution.

If you haven't already, you should also update your wearable to watchOS 10.4. Additionally, avoid taking your Apple Watch to an authorized service provider as they will not replace your device or provide a better solution.
