View the table thread for the game: Magic at Bucks, Mavs at Heat

0

The Sixers have tonight off. They will complete their regular season by hosting the Orlando Magic on Friday and the Brooklyn Nets next Sunday.

But what happens tonight in the NBA's 7th seed in the East could have a significant impact on the seeding of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Kelly Oubre, Jr. and others before the postseason (and/or before the play-in). 76ers can finish at.

Our Sean Kennedy has already put together some rooting guides for Wednesday's list.

While the Dallas Mavericks are all but in fifth place, there is some hope (if you're so inclined) that they play hard. Kyrie Irving will receive a $1 million bonus if the team gets another win this season. The Mavs are fielding their leaders here. But if Mavs coach Jason Kidd decides to rest the guys before the playoffs begin, this could be Kyrie Irving's last chance to secure the lucrative win (his contract includes an incentive for him in this 50th game to compete and win it) with all of his top teammates, including MVP candidate Luka Dončić.

Should Dallas win, the Sixers would have a golden opportunity to steal the no. The No. 7 seed from Miami (who owns the tiebreaker against Philly should both teams finish with the same record). Hopefully Mark Cuban needs to mentally prepare himself to write Irving a pretty big check later this evening.

And the next one is big too.

Orlando Magic visits the Milwaukee Bucks

As Kennedy noted earlier today, the Sixers need to finish the year 1-2 or worse to catch up in the standings. Luckily, Philly hosts Orlando on Friday.

So before the Sixers try to win this monster duel at the crib, many fans may be rooting for the Bucks to simply split the final two games they'll play against Paolo Banchero and Co., including Wednesday's draw.

But Damian Lillard, Brook Lopez and the rest of the Deer will have to win one of the two without Giannis Antetokounmpo, who suffered a calf strain.

But hey, Doc Rivers isn't the worst coach to win a regular season game with an undermanned group, right? Didn't we learn that this was one of the best parts about having Doc during his time in Philadelphia? Once Glenn, once!

If the Sixers meet Yahtzee and win both Dallas and Milwaukee on Wednesday, Philly will control their destiny and have a chance to move all the way up from number one. 8 to No. 6 while completely avoiding the scary play-in (and perhaps a grudge match against the reigning East champ Heat).
