UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier believes UFC 300 could be a career-changing spotlight for one of the fighters on the main card.

UFC 300 this Saturday in Las Vegas is set to be one of the most eventful nights in mixed martial arts history. The card features two UFC title fights and a number of former champions across the card lineup.

Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway will also fight for the BMF title on the UFC 300 main card.

Cormier, who will be cageside for the UFC 300 broadcast, believes one fighter can win more than any other fighter slated to compete.

Daniel Cormier: Jamahal Hill's star could shine brighter than ever

During a recent episode of Good guy/bad guy In Chael Sonnen, Cormier named a UFC 300 headliner as the fighter with the most wins this weekend.

“Anytime you’re competing for a championship, that’s the person who has the most to win,” Cormier said. “For me it is Jamahal Hill. He's never lost a championship, now he's back and fighting for the belt, and he's fighting a double champion that everyone feels like he's walking on water.

“If he wins this fight, his star will shine brighter than ever.”

Jamahal Hill returns after a year-long layoff due to a torn Achilles tendon last year. He won the then-vacant UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 283 over Glover Teixeira.

Hill will face a tough test in his return with UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. After Hill left the belt due to injury, Pereira finished Jiří Procházka at UFC 295.

Hill has won four fights in a row and is undeniably one of the best light heavyweights in the world. But he must reclaim the throne at UFC 300 to be able to call himself the rightful champion.

Cormier believes Hill could reach superstar status with a win at UFC 300, especially if he defeats Pereira in the Octagon. We're just hours away from finding out whether Hill's return to the cage will be triumphant and emphatic.
