It's time to dive into Monday's top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.

Penn State Tweets of the Day

We'll start with a ranking of the best college football stadiums. The Athletics Jayna Bardahl conducted a fan vote and Penn State's Beaver Stadium came in first place. It edged LSU's Tiger Stadium in the final voting session after beating Michigan Stadium, Virginia Tech's Lane Stadium and Notre Dame Stadium in previous rounds.

“White Out at Beaver Stadium sealed the deal, with voters calling the tradition “terrifying,” “unprecedented,” and “the best show in all of college football.” Still, this result feels like one of those games where that “The final result doesn’t say how close it was.” Bardahl writes. “Some voters brought this hypothetical matchup to OT, where Happy Valley outlasted Death Valley. Here are a few of voters' fondest memories of Beaver Stadium:

– “I was there for the Kick-Six against OSU, but in a smaller game against Illinois a few years earlier, Illinois stepped up to kick a game-winning FG into the student section. We all hit the student section into the “S” zone (I was so flat my feet didn’t even touch the ground), the kick was high and slammed off the crossbar, giving PSU the win. Almost every game is treated like a championship, which is unbelievable.”

– “I was a student at the very first Paternoville. Camping when Woody Paige and Cold Pizza arrived while they were banging on the trash cans 24/7. It's the camaraderie more than anything. Everyone lives and breathes Blue and White during those 60 minutes as the clock ticks down.”

quote of the Day

“Penn State is an excellent program with an incredible history. Beaver Stadium has one of the best atmospheres in college football and they have an incredible fan base! I'm very excited about their new offensive! I was able to build a great relationship with Coach Franklin, Coach Kotelnicki and Coach O'Brien. I think I would fit in well with them offensively because I can play on time and according to schedule, but I can also be creative when needed.

“They are one of my top schools right now.”
