Disney confirms its six biggest films will be released in 2025

Some projects may still be nearly two years away, but Disney has already planned its 2025 release schedule, and the company also knows which of these films is likely to be bigger than the others.

Disney is hoping to make amends with its 2024 releases after a somewhat disappointing 2023 in terms of the box office. However, when it comes to 2025, the company knows it has some heavyweights it can rely on.

Disney's 6 biggest films releasing in 2025

In slides from Disney's March 2024 shareholder presentation, which highlighted the company's recent successes during Nelson Peltz's bid to secure a seat on the company's board, Disney unveiled its six biggest films set to hit theaters in 2025 :

Captain America: Brave New World – February 14, 2025

Anthony Mackie's first solo film as Captain America had some production issues, to say the least. Not only that the release date was changed more than once, but also Captain America: Brave New World Additionally, certain parts had to be rewritten and shot, and the title was even changed completely.

However, fans have a lot to look forward to when the film finally hits theaters on February 14, 2025. As previously mentioned, lead actor Anthony Mackie will finally be seen on the big screen as Captain America and Harrison Ford will even be there for his time in the MCU.

Marvel Studios only plans to release one MCU film in 2024 (Deadpool and Wolverine), So Captain America: Brave New World will definitely be one of Disney and Marvel Studios' biggest films in 2025.

Snow White – March 21, 2025

Another of Disney's most important films of 2025 is the live-action remake of one of the company's most important animated films – Snow White.

It's unclear how many similarities the remake will have to the 1937 film, but the upcoming title is shrouded in controversy due to comments from lead actress Rachel Zegler and Evil Queen actress Gal Gadot.

But despite what fans think, Disney obviously thinks so Snow White as an extremely important project that will be released on March 21, 2025.

Elio – June 13, 2025

Elio is an upcoming film from Pixar about an 11-year-old boy who is abducted by aliens and in return becomes Earth's ambassador.

The film is written and directed by Adrian Molina and will serve as his directorial debut in the film world.

America Ferrera, Jameela Jamil, Brad Garrett and Yonas Kibreab will all star Eliowhich will be released on June 13, 2025.

The Fantastic Four – July 25, 2025

Marvel Studios' The fantastic Four Not only is there a final release date (barring any further unforeseen delays), but there's also an official cast.

Matt Shakman directed the MCU Fantastic Four The film stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (aka Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing).

Many fans were not only excited to see the MCU's take on Marvel's First Family, but also what the characters' suits would look like. Luckily, Marvel Studios offered a first look at the cast in costume (even if it wasn't a real photo) and showed off the retro outfits they'll be wearing in the film.

The fantastic Four is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.

Zootopia 2 – November 26, 2025

Zootopia is considered one of the best Disney animated films of the last decade, so many fans are naturally looking forward to the sequel. Zootopia 2when it releases on November 26, 2025.

Jason Bateman and Ginnifer Goodwin will star in the film as Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps, respectively, but no plot details have been released or hinted at at the time of writing.

Avatar 3 – December 19, 2025

James Cameron will return as writer, director, co-producer and co-editor for the next film Avatar Saga, Avatar 3.

The first two films in the series were both record-breaking releases in the film industry, so Cameron and Disney are probably both hoping for that Avatar 3 will follow suit and set some records of its own.

Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang will all reprise their roles from the previous films.

Avatar 3 was filmed in the late 2010s and filming ended in December 2020.

The upcoming film is expected to release on December 19, 2025.
